4 Awesome Face Palettes to Travel With

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekend! Summer is just around the corner and you know that means, right? It's time to start traveling. Whether you and a group of friends are taking an awesome summer road trip or you're going on a family vacation somewhere exotic, if you're a makeup lover you're going to want to read this post.

One of the hardest things for me when traveling is limiting the amount of bags I bring with me. Seriously, it was getting to the point where I wasn't leaving the house without 5 bags of luggage - 2 suitcases, 1 Caboodle (for my makeup, of course), 1 camera bag, and my purse. By the time my husband got through loading everything half of the car was full of my stuff.

So, in an effort to downsize my packing I decided to invest in a face palette. That way I wouldn't have to pack an entire makeup kit with separate blushes, bronzers, highlighters, etc. But, me being me, I invested in not 1 but 4 face palettes to try out and now I can't wait to share them with you.

These are (in my humble opinion) 4 awesome face palettes to travel with. If that's something you're interested in just keep on reading >>>>>>

4. Tarte Limited-Edition Tarteist Contour Palette Version III

This first palette was so amazing I actually did a solo review of it in April. To see that click here. Anyway, this palette is perfect for traveling because it has everything you need to do the perfect contour. It comes with circular pans with magnetic backs that can be removed so you reuse the palette even when the products run out. And it comes with not 1 but 2 bronzer, a contour powder, a blush, and 2 highlighters - one champagne-y and one golden. I can honestly say, for the first half of April this was my ride or die face palette. The powders are really pigmented and trust me, a little goes a long way.

3. Benefit Get the Pretty Started Mini Cheek Palette

This little palette is by-far the most affordable palette on this list and the cutest. It's compact, which is perfect for traveling, and it offers 3 of Benefit's best products - the Hoola Bronzer, the Galifornia blush, and the Watts Up Cream Highligher. All through the month of March this little baby was my go-to face palette. All of the products in it work together nicely to give your face a healthy glow that lasts all day - even after a long and stressful work day at the office. Who wouldn't want that?

2. Too Faced Natural Face Palette

This palette is my favorite face palette not only on this list but probably of all time. It comes with two of everything - highlighters, blush, and bronzer - that totally can fit almost every complexion. And what's better this palette actually lives up to it's name. No matter if you use the lighter bronzer or the darker bronzer you'll always end up with a natural looking contour.

1. Estte Lauder Limited Edition 42 Shades. Endless Looks Palette

Ok, the last palette is really more than just a face palette - it comes with 30 eye shadows, 6 lips colors, 4 blushes/bronzers, and 2 shimmery highlighters. To me this is the ultimate palette to travel with because it has a little bit of everything. I really liked how the eye shadows were broken up into individual looks so everyone can create a look they love. As for the face part of this palette I love every part of it - from the blushes to the highlighters - this palette is a must for any travel beauty guru.

So there you have it folks, the four face palettes I would recommend for traveling. Whether you're on the beach or chillin' on a cruise ship, seeing the local sights or hanging out overseas each of these palettes would do you well.

Now . . . what's you're favorite face palettes? I'm always looking for a new palette to try out. Let me know in the comments. And have a happy weekend.

Until next time, my lovelies . . .

XOXO,

Nellie

It's Finally Spring!

Hey everybody and welcome to today's post. It's finally Spring! Hey! Hey! Hey! Spring and Summer are my absolute favorite times of year because the weather starts to warm up and I can finally get out of the house.

So in honor Spring my husband visited the Longleaf Vista Trail that's part Kisatchie National Forest. This is the only National Forest in Louisiana and it's home to 604,000 acres of public land filled with longleaf pine trees and colorful azalea bushes that bloom in March and April. My husband, Denis, actually grew up not too far from this park so he knew it was the perfect place for us to explore on a Saturday afternoon.

These are a few pictures of the trail I snapped while we were there. Hope you enjoy >>>>

Making Our Way Down Music Row

Hello everybody and welcome to today's post. Today is the last post in my Nashville series and I hope you've all enjoyed it as much as I've enjoyed writing and sharing it. When Denis and I went to Nashville I told him there was one place we had to see before we left: Music Row.

So on our last day in Nashville we hopped into the truck and GPS'd Music Row. Surprisingly, it wasn't too far from our hotel and in a matter of minutes we reached the neighborhood of Edgehill. The more places we passed the more I felt like I'd been dropped into an episode of the CMT show, Nashville. Edgehill turned out to really live up to it's name. It's the really edgy (no pun intended) neighborhood in Nashville that's not far from Music Row.

Because the day was beautiful and so many people were walking, Denis and I paid for a parking spot and hit the streets with everyone else. We came across this restaurant Taco Mamacita and decided to grab some lunch.

This place had a really cool vibe and the food was delicious. I seriously think they had a taco for everyone there. After lunch we walked around and checked out some cute boutiques that weren't far from the restaurant. I bought a beaded necklace and Denis picked up some souvenirs for his co-workers. Then it was time for Music Row >>>>

I'd like to say that I handled the situation really calmly and didn't embarrass myself and my husband, but I so didn't. With camera in hand I snapped as many pictures as I could and oohed and aahed at every building we passed. And as we drove by I wondered how many hits had been written and recorded in those very buildings.

The very same overwhelming feeling I had in the Grand Ole Opry washed over my again as I realized we were surrounded by music history. It was definitely something I will never forget. I'd highly recommend visiting Nashville to anyone who loves music and wants to experience a little piece of music history.

And that's all for now, my lovelies. Until next time . . .

XOXO,

Tourin' the Grand Ole Opry

Hello, everybody! I hope you're all having a great Friday so far. And even more I hope that you enjoy today's post. No trip to Nashville is complete without a tour of the Grand Ole Opry. So, of course, Denis and I couldn't pass it up when went there last summer. And as you can imagine, I completely geeked out.

All I kept thinking was that this is where Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash, Alan Jackson, and Dolly Parton has performed. I mean, Carrie Underwood actually walked these halls. As we walked up to the entrance I felt all giddy inside. We were about to enter a piece of Country Music history.

I loved the huge guitars that were out front. Denis and I couldn't wait to take a picture in front one.

The coolest part of touring the Opry for me was seeing all the costumes and memorabilia that was on display. The dress on the left had actually been worn by Minnie Pearl, a well-known American Country Comedian.

Johnny & June - 2 of my favorite singers

Another part of the tour we really enjoyed was seeing the dressing room. Each dressing room had a special name and a history. Can you imagine how many nervous performers have waiting in these rooms?

I had to snap of picture of this mural. It was done by a man named Archie Campbell and it's located in the House Family Green Room, which is the really nice Green Room for the stars to wait and relax in between performances. Mr. Campbell said he wanted this mural to capture the "good-natured riot" of the Opry and in my opinion I think he did. When I think of the Grand Ole Opry I think of great Country musicians coming together to make great music.

THE BEST PART

Ever since I was a little girl I've dreamed of being on the Grand Ole Opry stage. So you can imagine how excited I was to finally get to walk across it and stand in the circle. And I learned something kind of surprising about it - it's not as big as I thought it would be.

On TV this stage looks huge, like the biggest stage in the world, but it was actually pretty small.

Selfie Time!

Denis and I really enjoyed touring a piece of country music history and I would highly recommend it to anyone going to Nashville. All in all, we had a great time and learned a lot.

Want to see more of our adventures in Nashville? Check out tomorrow's post Making Our Way Down Music Row.

Until next time . . .

XOXO,

Nellie
