March Favorites 2018

Hey everyone and welcome back to my blog. I hope all of you had a great weekend. With the end of March upon us, I thought I share with you guys some makeup products I've been loving this month and some products I've just been wearing a lot in March.

To be honest I rarely do a monthly favorites posts because I either forget to write down the products I buy each month or I don't really have anything new to share. But March 2018 was different. I actually kept track of the products featured in this post because I was so impressed with how well they worked.

The products range from makeup to skincare - drugstore to high end - and if you see something that catches your eye it'll be linked below >>>>

When it comes to makeup I'm a sucker for highlighter. And I've recently fallen in love with an oldie highlighter that's been on the market for a while - The Balm Mary Lou-Manizer Highlighting powder. It comes in a plastic compact perfect for travel and has a really nice mirror that's actually worth having. (Seriously, some compact mirrors look like they should be in a funhouse.) The formula is smooth and leaves a soft finish to the skin that stays in place all day. Unlike other highlighters it's not blinding but leaves a subtle glow to the cheeks that I really like. So far it's the only highlighter I've been wearing since I got it and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a natural glow.

Now on to foundation >>>>

If there's one thing I can't resist it's drugstore foundation. I mean if I can find a foundation that actually works and costs half the price of a high end foundation, sign me up! I'd been hearing nothing but good reviews about the Maybelline Super Stay Full Coverage Foundation on YouTube, so when I saw it at my local CVS pharmacy I knew I had to try it.

Since I bought this in the middle of March I've only worn it a few times and to be honest the first time I tried it I wasn't really sure if it was the one for me. But after giving it another go I was surprised to find that it worked well. It blended nicely and left my skin with a demi-matte finish. It stayed in place all day and didn't transfer and best of all it kept my oily skin in check, blocking the shine even after hours of wear. Plus it has a thin, lightweight formula so I don't feel like I'm wearing a heavy mask after it dries down.

As for brows, I've found not one but two products that I've been reaching for more and more in March: the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade and the Revlon ColorStay Brow Pencil.

Let's start with the Dipbrow Pomade. This stuff has quickly become my go-to brow product. It's a little tricky to use at first (you gotta invest in a brow brush with a spoolie to apply this stuff properly) but once you get the hang of it you think to yourself, "Why did it take me so long to buy this?" It's waterproof and budge-proof. But you have to be careful because once it's on it's on until you remove it waterproof makeup remover. One mistake can lead to some scary-lookin' brows but once you discover the brow shape that's perfect for you this product will totally up your brow game.

I've also been using Revlon's ColorStay Brow Pencil a lot, But like the Super Stay foundation I didn't really like it the first time I used it. It took a few more tries but I soon realized that this product applies more smoothly the more you use it. It has a pointed, triangular tip that helps you draw and fill-in your brows for the perfect shape. Plus Revlon offers 5 colors for this pencil - ranging from Blonde to Dark Brown.

I also purchased the Benefit Cosmetics Get the Pretty Started Mini Cheek palette earlier this month and I've been dying for it ever since. For my full review of this product click here. But long story short - this palette is perfect for travel because it houses three great Benefit products - the Hoola Bronzer, the Galifornia blush, and the Watt's Up Cream-to-Powder highlighter - in one compact kit. A must for any beauty travel bag.

As for skincare I've been loving the L'Oreal Pure Clay Cleanser and the Soap & Glory The Fab Pore Purifying Foam Cleanser. A few weeks back L'Oreal released their Pure Clay Masks and everyone raved about them. So, I guess after the success of the masks they decided to release the Pure Clay Cleansers. I went for the cleanser because to me a face mask is a luxury that I don't usually have time for during the week. Still, I'm really glad I bought the cleanser because it offers the same good things for my skin as the masks do without the thickness of a face mask.

But out of the two cleansers, I must say that the Soap & Glory Fab Pore Purifying Foam Cleanser has quickly become my favorite cleanser of 2018 (so far). This little baby definitely packs a punch I didn't see coming. It comes out of the bottle as a white, bubbly foam but as soon as I applied it to my face it made my skin tingle without breaking me out or irritating my skin. Now that's impressive! Plus, it left my skin feeling baby soft and refreshingly clean. It's has now become a must in my skincare routine. So cheers to Soap & Glory.

Now the next product is an oldie of mine but I've been loving it more than usual in March so I had to include it in my favorites - the Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor in Kisses. This is a liquid lipstick from the drugstore that gives your lips a matte finish without drying them out. I've actually bought a few more shades of these after I first discovered them and I can honestly say that the color Kisses is still my ride or die. And while it does transfer a little, the color is so beautiful and complimentary I can't help but reach for it. It's been living in my purse for the last month and I can assure it'll be there in April too.

Last but not least, I also got the Maybelline Volum' Express The Colossal Big Shot Mascara x Shayla. If you've never heard of Shayla Mitchell you should definitely check out her YouTube channel. She's a makeup YouTuber who collaborated with Maybelline on this mascara and a six-shade City Mini eyeshadow palette called Shayla in the City. I've always loved the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara but when it came time to buy a new mascara I decided to give the Colossal Big Shot Mascara a try and found this one. So far, I've really been liking it. It doesn't clump up my lashes or smear under my eye and even better it's really affordable.

So there you have it, folks, my favorite products for March 2018. Thanks so much for reading. I hope y'all enjoyed this post. Until next time . . .

XOXO,

Nellie

Benefit Get the Party Started Mini Cheek Palette Review

Hey everyone and welcome to today's post. It's finally Friday! Yeah! We survived another week and to kick off the weekend I thought I'd do a little beauty review on the Benefit Cosmetics Get the Pretty Started Mini Cheek Palette. So if that's something that tickles your fancy just keep reading >>>>>

*This post includes affiliate links that if they are clicked and a product is purchased I get a small commission of the revenue.

Now that spring has officially sprung that means that summer is not far behind. And if there's one thing I absolutely love about summer it's summer vacation. Every year my family and I try to go somewhere - whether that be far away or hittin' a local tourist attraction - a little time away from the stresses of every day life can be a lifesaver.

But, the only problem I run into at vacation time is packing. More specifically, packing my makeup. I tend to pack the whole house ... or at least try to. My husband, Denis, mentioned that this year he'd really appreciate it if I didn't bring my purple and black lace, Caboodles cosmetics carrier that I normally travel with and try to stick to 1 piece of luggage. So in attempt to oblige him I decided to reduce my travel makeup and invest in a face palette.  Because honestly, if I can find a product that holds my bronzer, blush, and highlight I'm cutting my packing space down by at least half.

So I saw this little beauty while I was scrolling through the Benefit Cosmetics website. The Benefit Hoola Bronzer is my absolute favorite bronzer so I figured I'd give their site a look and I found their Get the Pretty Started Mini Cheek Palette at a budget-friendly price of $20. Before I knew it, this palette was in my shopping cart, my PayPal account was up and ready, I clicked confirm, and this little cutie was on it's way to me.

This palette is not only adorable and travel-friendly, it's packed with products that actually work for a great price. It comes with the Hoola Bronzer, the Galifornia blush, and the Watt's Up Highlighter. This was my first time using the Galfornia blush but I found it be blend really well into my skin. To me this blush is perfect for makeup beginners because it's pigmented enough to show up and help warm up your complexion but no so pigmented that you can put too much on in one swipe.

As for the Watt's Up highlighter - I'm still on the fence about it. According to the Benefit site this highlighter has a cream-to-powder finish. I know there are people out there who probably love this highlighter but I found that it didn't show up on my skin very well. I tried blending it onto the tops of my cheeks with my fingers and even a damp beauty sponge but nothing really worked. So far I've been steering clear from it and using some of my other highlighters but all in all this palette is still awesome.

If you're interested in seeing how the bronzer and blush looked on my face just keep scrolling down - there's a few selfies at the bottom of this post.

Bottom line: if you're looking for an affordable face palette that won't break the bank I would highly recommend the Benefit Cosmetics Get the Pretty Started Mini Cheek Palette. It's compact enough for travel yet offers a good amount of product for a reasonable price. I've been using it non-stop and I can't wait to use it this summer wherever we end up going.

I hope you all enjoyed this post. Thanks for reading. Until next time . . .

XOXO,

Nellie

My 5 Favorite Ellie Goulding Songs

Hello everyone and welcome to today's post. It's been a while since I wrote a post on music so for today I wanted to share with you all my top 5 Ellie Goulding songs. Before we get started can I just say that I think Ellie Goulding is one of the most talented singers in the music business. I mean, seriously, the notes she can hit is unbelievable. Plus her songs won't only make you dance, they'll make you think. I'm definitely a fan of hers and if you're reading this post I'm assuming you are too. She's got the kind of voice I could listen to all day.

So . . . grab a comfy seat, a cup of your favorite drink, and let's jump into Ellie's music >>>>

5. How Long Will I Love You - Halcyon Days

This will be the slowest song on the list but don't let that put you off. This song is beautiful, genuine, and heart-touching. Yes, it's your quintessential love song but who doesn't love them? When I heard this song for the first time all I could think was I wish I'd heard it before I gotten married because Denis and I would have definitely danced to it. Yeah, it's that kind of song - the kind that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

There's a vulnerability to Goulding's voice that I really like in this song and it's such a simple melody that you can't help but remember it.

Favorite Lyrics: "How long will I love you
As long as stars are above you
And longer if I may"

4. Burn - Halcyon Days

If you need a song to work out to this is definitely the song for you. For me, this song is my go-to when I need some motivation. The beat is fast-paced and the lyrics are so catchy I find myself singing them in my car. And yes, other drivers do look at me like I've lost my mind. But I just wave and keep on singing because this song is that good.

If you don't get pumped while listening to this song then you need to call it a day.

Favorite Lyrics: "Light it up, like we're the stars of the human race, human race"

3. We Can't Move to This - Delirium

To be honest, I'm not much of a dancer - meaning I'm not good at it. But even me, with my stiff moves and lack of rhythm can't help but get up and move when this song comes on. This song has such an awesome beat (especially the chorus) that you have to get up when you hear it. The first time I heard I pictured a party on the beach. This song would be perfect for something like that. Plus, it's got this independent woman message that a girl just can't deny.

Favorite Lyric:s "We can't move to this
We can't even talk, boy
We don't even kiss
You're not in love"

2. Army - Delirium

I read online that Ellie wrote this song for her best friend, Hannah, and her fans and I think it's a beautiful testament of their friendship. I like the simplicity of the song in the beginning and how it builds as the song continues. Ellie's vocal power shines through as the song progresses and by the end of it you feel like you can grab your best friend's hand and go take on the world.

Favorite Lyrics: "And yet you understand
Yeah like no one can
We both know what they say about us
But they don't stand a chance because"

1. On My Mind - Delirium

Where do I begin with this song? This is by far my favorite Ellie Goulding song so far and honestly, it's one of my favorite songs in general. I find everything about this song to be perfect - from the lyrics to the beat to the production of the song. It was produced by pop music geniuses, Max Martin and Ilya, and I that's one of the reason it's so catchy.

I love how Ellie repeats the lyrics over and over again and how certain phrases layer over the other ones. And while I know this song is about a one night stand that really messes with your head I can't help but sing along to it when I hear it. You can bet your last dollar that this song is on repeat on my phone.

Favorite Lyrics: "Why I got you on my mind (you think you know somebody)"

So now that you know my favorite Ellie Goulding songs what's yours? Let me know in the comments and thanks for reading.

Until next time . . .

XOXO,

Nellie

More Pigments, Please: Makeup Geek Pigment Review

Hello everybody and welcome to today's post. If you've never heard of a cosmetics brand called Makeup Geek I am more than honored to introduce you to it. This company belongs to the YouTube and makeup guru, Marlena Stell. And in my opinion, it has some of the best products on the market - high end or drugstore. Everything is affordably priced and the brand offers almost everything from eye shadows to brushes to bronzers and blushes. But out of all the amazing products they have my favorite is the pigments.

For years I only used pressed shadows for my eye looks, but my makeup game totally changed the minute I saw the Makeup Geek pigments. Not only are they really pigmented (no pun intended) and well priced at $9.00 to $12.00, but they're super soft, pretty easy to work with, and give you a beautiful wash of color that beats even some of the most expensive eye shadows out there.

The pigments come in three different kinds - regular, foiled, and duochrome. If you haven't already guessed my personal favorites are the duochromes. You basically get two shadows in one and who doesn't love that? But before we get into the awesomeness of the pigments let's talk about the packaging for a second.

Let's just take a minute and appreciate the loveliness of the packaging. Each pigment comes in a compact box with a slight holographic shift. As for the pigment itself, each comes in a circular, plastic jar with about 6 grams of product.

Now on to swatches>>>>>

I don't think I'll ever understand why I love swatches so much but I do. And trust me, the Makeup Geek duochrome swatches didn't disappoint. Out of the 7 duochrome shadows she offers I have 6 and let me tell you these little babies pack a mean color punch. Her shades range from noticeable colors like Sugar Rush and Kaleidoscope to the more wearable like Prism and Mood Ring.

When it comes to the duochromes my holy grails are Sugar Rush and Kaleidoscope.

As for the regular and foiled pigments I only own two of each. To be honest the foiled pigments have some colors that are a little out of my comfort zone but the regular pigments are perfect if you want to add a little extra shine to your eye look. The two colors I have are probably some of the most wearable colors you'll find in the pigment range: Gargoyle and Afterglow.

Let's start with Gargoyle. If you're into cool tones than this is the pigment for you. It's a gray/taupe-y color that compliments all eye colors. Also, it works beautifully with the neutral colors of the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette

As for Afterglow - oh my gosh, let's take a minute for it, shall we - this stuff is my favorite of all the pigments because it looks ah-mazing on every eye color. It's the most beautiful, soft, and shimmery champagne with just the tiniest hint of gold. Plus, it's super versatile. You can wear it alone or layer on top of another eye shadow and take your look to the next level.  It's perfect for wedding makeup because you can either sweep a little bit on the lids for a natural glow or really pack it on for a stand out look. There's no wrong way to wear it.

So now that you know my favorite Makeup Geek pigments it's time to tell me yours. Let me know in the comments which MUG pigment catches your eye (no pun intended).

Until next time . . .

XOXO,

Nellie

Let's Have a Piece of Chocolate: Beauty Review of Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette

Hi everyone and welcome to today's post. Earlier this week I picked up the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette and of course, I had to let you beautiful people know what I thought about it.

First of all, it's gorgeous and the color selection is lovely and it smells like chocolate - that alone made me reach for it in Ulta. And while I know it's been on the makeup scene for quite a while I'm just now getting to see it action for myself.

So find a comfy seat, grab a cup of coffee, and let's have a piece of chocolate, shall we >>>>>

Too Faced is one of my favorite cosmetic companies because they offer really good products in the cutest packaging. Their Chocolate Bar palette wasn't any different. I mean, even the box the palette came in was cute as ever. When you take the palette out of the box the palette itself is even cuter because it looks like a huge candy bar.

According to the Too Faced site their Co-Founder, Jerrod Blandino, was inspired to infuse cocoa powder into makeup when he got a chocolate facial at a Hawaiian spa and the rest was history. Yes, the shadows in this palette are infused with cocoa powder and they come in some stunning shades that range from mattes to shimmers. You get 16 shadows in total and the colors range from hunter greens to varying shades of browns and neutrals and there's even some pops of pinks and plums.

Each color has a candy-themed name - starting from left to right the shadow names of the shadows on the left side of the palette are: Gilded Ganche, White Chocolate, Salted Caramel, Marzipan, Semi-Sweet, Hazelnut, Crème Brulee, Haute Chocolate.

The shade names from right to left are: Triple Fudge, Black Forest Truffle, Milk Chocolate, Amaretto, Candied Violet, Strawberry Bon Bon, Cherry Cordial, and Champagne Truffle.

I found this palette to be really easy to use. It's the perfect palette for makeup beginners because the shadows are very blendable and soft and the colors compliment a wide range of eye colors. From blue eyes to green to brown and everything in between this palette has a look for you.

Until next time, lovelies . . .

Nellie

7 Foundations Every Oily-Skin Girl Needs

Hello, lovelies, and welcome to today's blog post. I did a beauty review a while back for Urban Decay's All Nighter Liquid Foundation and it inspired me to write another foundation post. Because the only way to an awesome makeup look is to start with a flawless base.

Over the years I've had many people ask me what kind of foundation to use and I always tell them that in order to pick the right foundation that works best for your skin you must first identify what kind of skin you have. Is it oily? Is it dry? Combination? Once you figure that out then you can purchase the right foundation.

Well, as you can probably guess from this post's title I have oily skin. And by oily, I mean by noon my face is a shiny, grease-ball mess. So you can imagine how excited I was to find all of the foundations I'm about to go through. These little babies have changed my oily-skin life and thanks to them my face can go for hours without getting the least bit shiny.

So, if you're like me, sit back and relax, and let's check out some foundations together >>>>

**All the foundations mentioned in this post were purchased by me with my own money and I have not been compensated by any of the cosmetic companies in any way. The following reviews are my honest opinions.

HIGH END PICKS

Urban Decay's All Nighter Liquid Foundation is an excellent choice for oily-skin girls everywhere because it's a full coverage product that actually delivers. The formula is really good because it doesn't take a lot to cover your whole face. A little goes a long way. However, I must warn you - this foundation tends to oxidize - meaning it dries down to a darker shade than what's in the bottle. So if you want to try it out make sure to buy it in a shade lighter than your skin. Once it's been set it'll dry down to a shade that's close to your skin.

If you're interested in a more detailed review of this foundation, check out my review here

Becca's Ever-Matte foundation does exactly as the name suggests - it leaves your skin matte and free from shine for long hours. However, it does stand out from the other foundations on this list because it has a medium coverage. While it is buildable and it blends nicely, I found that it took a few layers to create the full coverage look I go for. But I have a feeling that I'll be reaching for this foundation more in the summer months because thanks to the Louisiana humidity I'm surrounded by my skin requires a lighter layer of foundation.

I discovered this foundation when I was searching for one to wear in my wedding. And while I didn't use it for my wedding day (to see my Wedding Makeup click here) I did really enjoy it and found myself using it non-stop at first. It works very well for my long work days and it offers a full coverage finish that gives a flawless look. I also found that it evened out some of the texture that pops up now and again on my forehead and did an excellent job at concealing any blemishes. Plus it doesn't transfer so you can wear it safely without worrying about it staining your clothes.

This foundation is by far my favorite foundation on this list because long story short - it's a miracle in a bottle and should be part of a every oily-skin girl's foundation collection. This was the foundation I wore in my wedding and since then I've only worn it for special occasions because it works so good. It's full coverage, long lasting, doesn't transfer, doesn't fade, basically doesn't move for hours on end. It works unbelievably well on its own but looks even more amazing once it's been set with powder and setting spray.

DRUGSTORE PICKS
This foundation is one of the more affordable options on this list. But that's not the only reason I love it. It has a mousse-like consistency that dries down to a full coverage finish that's surprisingly light on the skin. I have put this foundation to the test many times by wearing it to the gym and amazingly it holds up great through my workouts. So well, in fact, that people have asked me what kind of foundation I'm wearing when I came back from the gym and were shocked to learn that it was a drugstore one. However, like the All Nighter foundation it does oxidize some but it leaves such a flawless finish that I don't even mind that it gets a little darker.

When it comes to drugstore foundations for oily-skin you can't leave out Maybelline's Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation. This foundation sits nicely on the skin, blends out well with a brush or beauty sponge, and leaves your skin looking matte and poreless just as the name suggests. Recently, I've been using this foundation more and I can honestly say it holds up really good throughout the day. Plus it's a great, affordable alternative to some of the more high end foundations I mentioned.

While the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation is my favorite high end pick, my favorite drugstore pick goes to L'oreal, hands-down. L'oreal's Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation is full coverage but it has a light consistency that blends like a dream on your face. It leaves a semi-matte finish that blurs fine lines and evens out the complexion. And while I'm not sure how it wears after 24 hours (I don't think anyone should wear foundation for that many hours), I can say that it holds up wonderfully for a full 9 hour work day.

So now that you know my top foundation picks what are yours? I'm always looking for a new foundation to try so let me know in the comments.

Until next time . . .

XOXO,

Nellie

Beauty Review: Urban Decay All Nighter Liquid Foundation

Hello, everyone and welcome to today's blog post. If you're like me then you're constantly looking for a foundation that not only covers well but makes your skin look flawless and fresh. Basically, you're looking for a miracle in a tube. And while there are hundreds of foundations out there to choose from I chose the Urban Decay All Nighter Liquid Foundation to test out and boy, was I glad I did.

This foundation has become my new favorite. If you have oily skin and you need coverage that's not only matte but oil-controlling definitely give this foundation a try. According to the Urban Decay web site it comes in 24 shades, is waterproof, and paraben-free to help blur flaws and absorb shine. Sounds too good to be true, right? Wrong. This foundation actually does what it claims to do on the box.

I thought the packaging was really pretty. The box and the container the product come in share the same gunmetal, metallic look with lines that cross the front. You get 30.0 ml / 1.0 fl oz in each bottle, which is more than I've seen with other foundations on the market. The bottle also comes with a pump which makes it easier to get the product out. Plus, this foundation is so full-coverage that a little goes a long way. A couple pumps should cover your face completely and once it's dry it leaves a flawless, powdery finish.

The only thing I'd caution you about is that the formula does oxidize some, meaning it'll become a shade darker once it's been applied. So when buying this pick a color that's a shade lighter than your skin so it doesn't oxidize too dark later. I know it might feel weird to pick a foundation shade that look lighter than your skin but trust me, once you've applied it, it'll even out. Plus, it doesn't transfer or start flake off after hours of wear.

I found this foundation to wear nicely on my skin and I was surprised to find that it actually stayed looking nice for several hours. Here's a pic of how it looked when I first apply in the morning >>>>

As you can see it gives the complexion a soft finish that amazingly stays with you throughout the day. The next pic was taken after 10 hours of wear. I wore it all day at work and even went to the gym and was shocked to see how well it stayed on after all that.

So, all in all, this foundation is definitely one worth purchasing. Urban Decay has outdone themselves with this one and I would recommend it to anyone with oily skin problems. A great foundation to add to any cosmetic collection.

So what foundation is your go-to? I'm always looking for a new one to try so feel free to let me know in the comments.

Until next time . . .

XOXO,

Nellie

My Top NYX Cosmetics Picks

NYX is a brand I find myself turning to over and over again for my affordable makeup need. Not only is it good for the wallet it actually offers really good products. But just like any brand I've learned that there's good products and not-so-good products. Let's focus on the positive today, shall we?

Today's post is going to be quick list of the Top Products I Like from NYX. So find a comfy seat and let's get into the list >>>>>

***Disclaimer: The product prices mentioned in this post are the product prices featured on the NYX website as of today.

1. NYX Professional Makeup Eye Shadow Base - $7.00

This stuff is my holy grail eye primer when I don't feel like using my Mac Painterly Paint Pot. Honestly, I find that it works just as good as the Paint Pot but for a much more affordable price. NYX offers it in four colors - Skin Tone, White, White Pearl, and Black. While the white would likely work well in brightening up your eye shadow, the Skin Tone one works best for every day wear. Just pat it coat of it on your lid before you apply your eye shadow and viola! Creaseless eye makeup all day.

2. NYX Professional Makeup Jumbo Eye Pencil - $3.50 - $4.50

Ever wonder how you can make your eye shadow look brighter or darker? Try laying down a Jumbo Eye Pencil first. NYX offers a variety of colors (24 currently) but my favorite ones are Milk and Black Bean. But I must warn you: don't pack so much of the color on your lids while applying - the formula is a little greasy and they tend to crease if too much is applied. I usually just draw some of the product on my lid and then pat it out with my ring finger.

3. NYX Professional Makeup Face & Body Glitter - $6.50

Glitter is a girl's best friend. Simple as that. And if you're looking for cosmetic glitter that's easy to use, finely-milled, and in a variety of shades definitely check out the NYX Face and Body Glitters. These little bad boys come in plastic tubes that are not only makeup bag friendly but easy to store. I've used these glitters countless times and I'm still impressed at well they work. But I found out that they work best with my next product on this list . . .

4. NYX Professional Makeup Glitter Glue - $6.50

If you want your eye/body glitter to stay on all night you've got to apply some glitter glue. And NYX's is the best on the drugstore market in my opinion. It's easy to use and I love the long-tipped tube it comes in. A definite cosmetic must for any collection.

5. NYX Professional High Definition Finishing Powder - $10.00

NYX's HD Finishing Powders are best used in small doses. I've made the mistake more than once of having a heavy-hand with this powder and trust me, it will make you look like Caspar the Friendly Ghost. But I learned that it works best when applied lightly. I mostly use it to set my eye shadow base and my under eye concealer and I've hit pan on this product not once but twice. It currently comes in three colors - Translucent, Banana, and Mint Green. So all in all, a decent setting powder from the drugstore.

6. NYX Professional Makeup Suede Matte Lip Liner - $4.00

The NYX lip liners go two-to-two with even high-end lip liners. They're super creamy and they come in 36 shades. No matter what lip look you're going for NYX has got you covered. The formula is some of the best on the market and what makes them even more amazing is the price. $4.00? You can't beat that.

7. NYX Professional Makeup Slide On Pencil - $8.00

A good eyeliner is hard to find but thankfully NYX gives us a wonderful option for a wonderful price. Their Slide On Pencil actually live up to their name by sliding onto your water line like a dream. They stay put through the day and don't bleed down your eye.
