Takin' A Tour Around Tombstone, AZ

Hello everyone and welcome to today's post.

Tombstone, Arizona. This was the place Denis really wanted to see. He'd seen the movie and he's really into Westerns and history so of course we had to stop by Wyatt Earp's old stomping grounds. And boy, did I learn some things.

Tombstone Quick Facts

  • It's a historic city in Cochise County, Arizona, United States, founded in 1879, by Ed Schieffelin
  • - Its population grew from 100 to around 14,000 in less than seven years
- It is best known as the site of the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral

But the best part of visiting this historic, old city was seeing Denis so happy. He was like a kid in a candy store, pointing out places from the movie. We stepped inside the Bird Cage Theatre and listened to a tour guide tell us some interesting things about the theatre and town.

Mostly, we just strolled around the town with all the other tourists and enjoyed the scenery. Here's a few pics >>>>>>

In Tombstone they do this reenactment of the famous "Gun Fight at the Ok Coral" so of course, Denis wanted to see it. So we got some tickets for an evening show. While we waited around Mom and I took the opportunity to play dress up. We found this place that did old photographs and took a pic.

We also checked out Boothill Graveyard and saw the graves of Tom McLaury, Frank McLaury, and Billy Clanton, who were all killed in the O.K. Corral shootout on October 26, 1881.

So all in all it was a very eventful day and we all really enjoyed it. I would highly recommend visiting Tombstone. So, how about you, any recommendations for a good tourist attraction? Feel free to leave it in the comments below.

XOXO,

Nellie
